Luna - "Anesthesia"

Friday = music around here.
Simply put, this is one of my favorite songs ever. An oldie but a goodie! Luna is a little known band comprised of former members of Galaxy 500, The Feelies, and The Chills.  They came together in New York at the end of 1991 and released the first of their ten studio albums called 'Lunapark' the following year. This song is from that very first record.  Turn it up and ENJOY!

Hey all...it's FRIDAY! Song-of-the-weekend time. This one is for the good minister (and half decent apparel salesman) Ted Wright. Originally recorded for a Jayhawks album 'Tomorrow the Green Grass' (that I can't believe is almost 20 years old), this is a gospelly song called "Up Above My Head". It actually never made it on the album, but has just been released on a recent re-issue of the record...ENJOY!

And I like what I hear! Wikipedia describes them as a "soul/funk/R&B/blues/southern rock band"...guess that covers that. From Jacksonville, FL this is JJ Grey & Mofro with Fireflies. ENJOY!
