The Low Anthem - "To Ohio"

Quick....who's your favorite indie folk band from Rhode Island? Oh that's an easy one for me...The Low Anthem.  The song "To Ohio" comes from their third studio album, 'Oh My God, Charlie Darwin'  which was recorded in 2008 on one of my favorite places to visit, Block Island, RI and released the following year.  Their sound might be a bit of an acquired taste, but this song just sort of mesmerized me from the moment I heard it....love the harmonies.
Hope you enjoy and have yourself a merry little weekend!

Bob Schneider - "Bicycle vs. Car"

Hello all and HAPPY FRIDAY!  Although it may seem that I'm on Bob's payroll, with all my efforts to promote this artist and share his music with those that are interested, the truth is he just happens to be my personal favorite.
This Austin TX legend is one of the most prolific and diverse songwriters ever.  His songs vary in style from rock to pop to folk to jazz to rap to country to salsa and even a little opera thrown in there for good measure.
Bob's newest record (his 11th in the last 12 years) will be titled "A Perfect Day" and is set to be released on April 19...you can check out a sneak preview of the album and it's first single here: Bob Schneider: "A Perfect Day"
For today, we're going with "Bicycle vs. Car", my favorite from his last solo album, 'Lovely Creatures' which was released in 2009. Have a great weekend and, as always, ENJOY the music!

Old 97's - "Weightless"

Friday means song-of-the-weekend time!  This week I'm going back to the 2001 vault for a tune from Old 97's.  This is a group which formed in Dallas TX in 1993 and since that time has released nine studio albums, a couple EPs and a live album.  They are truly considered pioneers in the alt country movement and this one might be my favorite from them.  Turn it up loud, ENJOY and have a great weekend!

Clem Snide - "Moment in the Sun"

This is a great Friday isn't it?!  Time for some music.
Clem Snide, who got their name from a character in several William S. Burroughs novels, formed in Boston back in 1991 and are now based in New York. They have been described as an alt country band but have also been referred to as 'nerd' rockers whatever that may be.  In any case, I only stumbled across them this week while listening to Pandora. I really like this one which happened to be featured as a theme song on the TV show "Ed".  As always....turn it up and ENJOY!
